"FLYING" POST CONVENTION WORKSHOP
A post convention workshop deals with a specific topic, allowing you to explore a technique in depth or a facet related to weaving. This year's subject:

A Good Yarn

The workshop will be held in two locations, hence the word " flying ":

  • In Laval, on Monday, June 6th at "Les Tisserins de Laval - atelier de Tissage", 400 rue Laurier.

  • In Quebec City on Wednesday, June 8th (place to be confirmed).

    • At both places, the workshop runs from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. This way we can accommodate more people at lower costs (no hotels, shorter travelling distance, etc.)


    A GOOD YARN:

  • Learn to use the proper fibre for an intended result.
  • What to use, a pure natural fibre or a mixture of fibres?
  • Understand how fibre is influenced by structure and density.
  • What will the finished product look like.
  • How to predict the results before weaving thanks to the proper selection of fibre?

    • Supported by samples made in her workshop, Laura Fry presents studied and planned fibre transformations on woven material. No loom required. Yet another good reason to register at this post convention workshop. All documents will be available in French & in English. During the workshop, information will be translated in French.
