AQW Award

This award honours creativity by members interested in exploring combined craftsmanship. However, the end result must integrate weaving with another technique.

Take note that the Mixed media Award is unrelated to any convention theme or workshop.

Judgment criteria:

• The finished product must contain at least 51 % of weaving.


• As a mixed medium, the article includes at least one other technique besides weaving. For example: dyeing, spinning, knitting, embroidery, beading, tatting, kumihimo, hand made paper, basketry, dévoré, etc. It can also include non textile arts such as woodworking, metallurgy, etc.


• The finished piece can be a garment, an accessory, a decorative article or a sculpture ; it can reflect a two (2) or three (3) dimensional value.


• Imaginative and novel use of the combined techniques.


• Quality of workmanship in weaving and chosen technique(s).


• Overall symmetry.

To participate, you must:

• Be an AQW member in good standing.


• Exhibit one or more articles during the AQW Convention.

No registration is required.

Award: One (1) year AQW membership
